Jen Joseph Photography is now Jen Fields Photography

Some news: Jen Joseph Photography is now Jen Fields Photography.

The work and goals are the same: creating art together while documenting your beautiful families in a way that feels true.

But I want to tell you why the name changed, because the reason actually matters to me.

It comes down to authenticity. It's at the core of my photography — the way I work to capture you being the most you you can possibly be, having a great time doing it, nothing posed or performed. That value is also core to how I try to live, and it needed to continue to carry through into my business.

Here's the backstory. I was really young when I got married, and I changed my last name mostly because it felt like something I was supposed to do. Because it felt expected. And it never quite felt like me, if I'm honest.

When I got divorced a few years ago and went back to my own name, the feeling that hit me when my new social security card and drivers license came in the mail, and I saw Jennifer Wilson Fields on there - it was something. That small moment of recognition was like — there I am again. It’s a little hard to describe, but it felt like seeing myself again for the first time in a while.

That freedom, and the happiness it brought, made this decision easy. If authenticity is what I ask of the families I photograph — showing up as themselves, letting real moments be real — it only made sense to show up the same way in my own name.

So: new name, new website, same honest, documentary approach to capturing your most special moments. I'm so glad you're here for it.

Because you continue to graciously invite me into your lives to capture you being you, here are a few photos of me being me.
